The Modern Steakhouse In a Historic District

Tommy’s Chophouse

Tommy’s is a highly anticipated restaurant created by acclaimed restaurateur Kenneth Emery. First developing Burwell’s in Charleston SC in 2011, recording 12 years of award winning service, this modern twist on the steakhouse comes to Tampa Florida at 1622 E. 7th Avenue in Historic Ybor City. Named in honor of the late, great Tampa designer Thomas Lamb, ensuring another stunning venue for fine dining.

Modern Take

While Emery & Lamb longed for a crown jewel, both agreed to be “approachable.” The Charleston location received national attention for its modern, approachable, more female focused approach to the Chophouse. Gone were the dark, clubby rooms making way for a more energetic and social environment. Even before Instagram, these designers created spaces to see and be seen. Tommy’s will offer the same welcoming hospitality, serving Prime steak & seafood, allowing anyone to feel VIP. Everyone deserves great food, and Tommy’s hopes you enjoy the traditional steakhouse offerings on down to the more chef driven plates and well curated wine list.

Beef Experts

With nearly 15 years partnering with ranches, Tommy’s continues Emery's mission to partner with farmers. Specializing in more unique cuts, guests enjoy butcher selections like Hanger Steak, Denver Cut, or the Bistro, ensuring better use the whole resource. Many of these boutique cuts come from Wagyu cattle, often 2-4 grades finer than Prime Beef, making them as luxe as Filet Mignon. Tommy’s has all the traditional cuts as well, tenderloin to Ribeye, yet separates themselves with this more diverse approach to steak. Guest may even find the famous Tampa “breaded steak” offered in the Wagyu version, along with towers and plates of fresh seafood.

Beyond Steak

Beginning with decadent appetizers, followed by fresh Grouper or Tuna, all diners are equally as comfortable in this modern meatery. Chef and the team are equally focused on vegetables, scallops, fish, pasta and exceptional food beyond prime beef. Round out and close your evening with dessert at Tommy’s, created by Pastry Chef Mark Heyward-Washington.

Hospitality

Tommy’s is a decidedly more boutique experience, and the entire team looks forward to getting to know everyone in Tampa Bay.

See you soon.
